Ice Skating with Bloomington Ice Center

Fun patches are not included with the skating price and can be purchased online or in the Girl Scouts of Central Illinois Boutiques.

Description:

The Bloomington Ice Center offers a variety of options for troops. Girls can have a private skating party where only the troop is allowed on the ice. Girls can also visit during open skates or various themed skate events.

During a private party, girls can play Broomball. Broomball is a sport played on an outdoor rink or in an ice arena, mostly during winter. The object of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team. Using sticks (a shaft with a molded broom-shaped head), players maneuver a six-inch diameter ball up and down the ice. Players wear spongy-soled shoes, instead of hockey skates, to gain traction when running of the ice surface.
